I don't find the way to make a terrain, like warcraft III (for exemple)



with multiple terrain textures, like as 2d tile engine but in 3d coded…

Hello DiabloV!

There are a few ways you could do this currently.

1. If you want true tiling texture functionality, you will have to specify which areas of your terrain it's for and build it with quads.

But most 3d style RTSes don't really do this with terrain, so your other, and likely better option is:

2. Use texture blending to use multiple textures on one terrain mesh via Ogre materials. You can find a couple of references here on the Ogre wiki that should get you started:

I want really make a high detailed terrain, such like 2D tiling but in 3d mode


have you any code exemple for do the 2cond way as you have describe ?

(the links dont show any code, only the materiel but i want much more a really example…)
